Deconstructing Whiteness

Mixed within the experience of discovering space away from trump-hugging white Republicans is the revelation that their whiteness is far more important than justice, love, and compassion. It’s not a secret, and it’s always been that way. However, what is quite disturbing are the brazenly bizarre behaviors that have surfaced since Barak Obama was elected president. And if they were honest, which they demonstrate they cannot be, is their obvious disgust for him has nothing to do with politics or who he is as a man. It is as simple as what our blackness is to their whiteness. Through their unfettered allegiance to Donald Trump, they prove that they could not possibly care less about a person’s character, integrity, or reputation. It is as clear as daylight that the fact a Black man was elected Commander in Chief of the United States of America was then, and is now, absolutely unacceptable and evidenced in their immediate shameless racist-driven baseless assaults against him.

It is as simple as what our blackness is to their whiteness.

Precious few white conservative Americans are willing to talk in such simple terms. They argue with clinched teeth how they are not racist while refusing to discuss the truths about American History because the truth makes them uncomfortable, which is eerily odd in light of how often they tout the USA is established on Christian ideals. To this idea, I quote: “God has told you, O man, what is good; And what does the Lord require of you except to be just [truthful], and to love [and to diligently practice] kindness (compassion), and to walk humbly with your God [setting aside any overblown sense of importance or self-righteousness]?” Micah‬ ‭6:8‬ ‭Amplified Bible‬ — How does MAGA stand in contrast to this biblical declaration?

Of course, we should read with a purpose to understand the wrongs of the past and listen to the present stories of racism and inequality, regardless of the difficulty or personal costs. Doesn’t this align with the ideals of biblical integrity and repentance?

It is an awful narrative when the typical white conservative American refuses to address obvious and open racism but instead prefer deploying lunatic strategies and conspiracy theories to conceal moral truth. What complicates this national crisis is their determination to go to great lengths to hide the truth, which is ironically sitting in plain view for the world to see.
